QA Engineer - Pune, India - Full Time
Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for obtaining business requirements, functional specification and all other related documentation for assigned project.
  • Responsible for creation of Traceability matrix document.
  • Responsible for test case design & preparation phase.
  • Conduct reviews and approve High Level and Detailed Test Cases for respective projects.
  • Ensure Entrance criteria are achieved prior to SAT starts for responsible projects.
  • Participate in resource estimation determination for a given project.
  • Ensure test systems outages/problems are reported immediately and followed up.
  • Manage individual test cycles & resolve tester queries / problems.
  • Coordinate and ensure smooth setup and availability of infrastructure and environment required for testing.
  • Data Set up Preparation / Configuration in support of assigned projects.
  • Help to ensure tests are delivered to schedule, budget & quality.
  • Regularly review testing progress with QA Project Test Coordinators.
  • Weekly/Daily review testing progress with developers and project managers
  • Manage issues/risks relating to responsible projects
  • Ensure Exit criteria are achieved prior to System Test signoff
  • Ownership of defects resolution: Review all open defects associated with a responsible project on a daily basis and assure fast turnaround resolution according to established SLA.
  • Conduct Defect Meeting Review (in the absence of Project Test Coordinator) with Development and Project managers/Product Owners for respective projects.
  • Ensure test data and user set up is complete prior to the testing phase in SAT Environment.
  • Provide detailed defect analysis review at the end of the testing cycle and identify defects, which were missed during the testing phase by calculating Test Efficiency Indicator.
  • Participate in quality improvement sessions after completion of the test cycle and provide continuous improvement comments to testers allocated to responsible projects as well as QA Manager
  • Responsible for tracking assigned project progress through status spreadsheets on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Review test execution results from testers.
  • Suggest and recommend new ideas to improve existing processes.
  • Responsible for coordinating and managing to test for responsible projects.
  • Participate in ad-hoc testing and finding defects during SAT cycle.
  • Responsible for creating a hierarchy of the test cases in Quality Center test plan and test lab modules.
  • Monitor and update issue list for responsible projects.
  • Arrange Walk-thru meetings with developers and project managers for responsible projects.
  • Participate in providing information for daily and weekly status reports.
  • Produce weekly testing execution progress reports.

Senior QA Test Architect
Responsibilities:
  • Provides Technical Leadership and Strategic Direction to the Testing Organization (TO)

  • Reviews and recommends best practices for Test Strategy and Test Policy formulation

  • Responsible for orchestrating and developing Metrics & KPI Strategy Formation and adaption

  • Helps Formulate & Develop effective Test Architecture per organizational needs

  • Responsible for defining STLC (Software Test Life Cycle) and incorporating it with in SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle)

  • Responsible for coaching and training on various QA strategies and methodologies.

  • Technically responsible for all the Testing performed by the Testing Organization

  • Technical Authority and is responsible for the overall Quality of deliverables across all parameters, both functional and non-functional including performance, security, usability, etc.

  • Pro-actively analyze current processes and practices and suggest/ drive improvements. Also, defines new QA processes as needed.

  • Has wide-reaching scope, impact and influence extending beyond the confines of the Testing Organization and spans across the entire product organization.

  • Involved in driving organization-wide Quality Process initiatives

  • Maintains a “big and complete” picture view of the product, its dependencies, organizational goals, technology arena, etc. and helps guide & direct the functioning of the Testing organization appropriately

  • Influences the product organization’s future direction, strategy and planning

  • Collaborates effectively & on an on-going basis with all constituents involved in product development & release activity including development, testing, technical publications, marketing, program management and other entities to ensure execution & deliverables per plan

  • Involved in customer engagements and provides customer facing organizations with necessary technical product support in making presentations, demos, pocs, etc. Also, receives and analyzes existing customer feedback to identify gaps as well as work with deployment / sustaining organizations as needed. Customer engagement activity also spans alpha / beta trial opportunities and acts as a liaison with customers and partners while ensuring Test strategy is aligned appropriately.

  • Responsible for technical input to executive level communications and presentations.
    Helps with Test plan development

  • Responsible for design & development of the Testing Organization’s Test Automation framework / harness and any in-house tools required. Where tools do not fully meet requirements of the Testing Organization, the Test Architects writes code / develops components that can extend available tools or even design & develop tools as needed

  • Involved in understanding Business requirements and works with the development architect to translate requirements into solution architecture designs. Reviews requirements and seeks clarity as required, participates in product design reviews and works with the development architect and development team to make any design improvements and refinement as needed. Also helps incorporate Testability requirements into design

  • Analyzes competitive products and technologies and makes appropriate suggestions (may use demos, pocs) to influence product / technology direction

  • Has overall product knowledge and is able to guide both junior and senior team members
    Influences Technical direction and use of technologies after making necessary evaluations

  • Involved in hiring activities for the Test Organization and mentoring of Test Organization team members

  • Pro-actively seeks to make continuous improvements to Test coverage, execution and automation

  • Participates in test planning for all products handled by the Test Organization and owns the test artifacts such as test specs, code, etc.

  • Growth upwards from a Test Organization level is towards a more senior role with wider scope of activity & influence across the organization.

QA Project Test Coordinator
Responsibilities:
  • Working with all stake holders to ensure that the quality metrics is reviewed, approved and agreed upon.
  • Create a list of milestones and checkpoints and set measurable criteria’s to check the quality on timely basis.
  • Defining processes for test plan and test phases of testing cycles.
  • Planning and scheduling milestones for assigned projects
  • Ensuring all development tasks meet quality criteria through test planning, test execution, quality assurance and issue tracking.
  • Set processes for test plan reviews and ensure that that test plans get reviewed by all stakeholders.
  • Provide input from a testing perspective to the release’s and project’s schedule plan.
  • Create and maintain the overall release and project specific test strategy and scope that include the types and amount of testing based on resource capacity and skill set along with adhering to testing standards.
  • Mandatory participation in test cases review process.
  • Create and maintain all the release and project specific QA high-level plans (includes timelines, assumptions & risks).
  • Identify release and project specific milestones, external milestones, dependencies, issues, risks and assumptions.
  • Establish QA release entrance and exit criteria.
  • Identify specific skill sets needed to fulfill the specific roles and tasks on their team.
  • Manage, coordinate and ensure the delivery of a release or project.

  • Help customize the various tools needed by the QA team.
  • Identify areas of improvement to increase speed, quality and gain efficiencies.
  • Resolve assigned project issues and risks and escalate outstanding issues to the QA Manager.
  • Provide tasks status and defect report communication to the QA Manager.
  • Ensure testing commitments are met within the sub QA team and monitor assigned sub QA team projects for potential impacts to target dates or other projects.
  • Communicate potential impacts to target dates to the QA Manager.
  • Help customize the various tools needed by the QA team.
  • Identify and implement new processes. Improve and update existing processes. Ensure both new and existing QA processes are being followed.
  • Provide training and mentoring to new QA team members and QA sub group.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with all the areas engaged with their QA team.

Sr. QA Manager
Responsibilities:
  • Define and implement the overall QA strategic approach.
  • Define and implement the overall QA tactical/operational approach.
  • Define and implement an efficient QA operating model to align with the company’s business goals.
  • Manage teams across multiple geographic locations, releases and projects.
  • Manage and maintain the QA team budget.
  • Build the QA area/team, QA team structure, and QA roles and responsibilities based on the projects the QA group would be responsible to deliver.
  • Build a strong QA team through better recruitment, retention, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Set the overall QA test strategy that includes all the various types of testing being performed by the QA team.
  • SOW reviews and approvals.
  • Licensing agreement review and approval.
  • Determine the scope of the overall QA team based on all the business demand, resource capacity and skill set.
  • Responsible for executive management reporting and presentations.
  • Provide input from a testing perspective to the delivery release roadmap and project schedule plan, capacity, and deployment to production schedule.
  • Maintain the QA team’s capacity planning, utilization and assignment allocations, etc.
  • Create and maintain the overall QA Project Plan and Statement of Work (SOW)
  • Defining and implementing the role testing plays within the organization
  • Review and approve the scope of testing within the context of each release/delivery
  • Deploying and managing the appropriate testing framework to meet the testing mandate
  • Implementing and evolving appropriate measurements and metrics
  • Planning, deploying and managing the testing effort for any given engagement/release
  • Review the test plan sections for dependencies, risks, assumptions, constrains and help to mitigate them by obtaining stakeholder support and acknowledgement.
  • Arrange the Hardware and software requirement for the Test Setup and environment set up, batch coordination.
  • Responsible directly or indirectly for balanced resource utilization.
  • Ensure content and structure of all Testing documents / artifacts is documented and maintained
  • Document, implement, monitor, and enforce all processes for testing as per standards defined by the organization
  • Randomly spot check/review the Test Cases documents

    Assign release/project work to the various QA teams.

  • Resolve escalated issues and risks with firm mitigation plans and escalate outstanding issues if required.
  • Identify needs for implementing new processes and analyze project trends to improve and optimize existing processes. Ensure both new and existing processes are being followed.
  • Identify areas of improvement to increase speed, quality and gain efficiencies.
  • Identify the various tools needed by the QA team and help customize these various tools based on testing needs.
  • Identify and help build the Automation model, framework and approach.
  • Identify and help build the Regression Test Bed.
  • Create and maintain the QA team member skill set database.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to build and maintain a high performance environment.
  • Establish Status Report templates (Daily, Weekly etc.) and distribution guidelines.
  • Attend status calls/meetings and discuss the weekly status with product owners and clients.
  • Act as the single point of contact between Development and QA Teams.
  • Track and review the report of testing activities like test testing results, test case coverage, required resources, defects discovered
  • and their status, performance baselines etc.
  • Review various reports prepared by Test engineers
  • Ensure the timely delivery of different testing milestones
  • Circulate and socialize the metrics dashboard at the end of a phase or at the completion of project
  • Set goals and objectives for the team members.
  • Conduct performance evaluation for team members.
